Moroccan reports said that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) appointed South African Victor Gomez to referee the African Champions League final match.
Al-Ahly and Al-Wydad will play on May 30 at Mohammed V Stadium in the final of the African Champions League.
Victor Miguel de Freitas Gómez is 39 years old, born on December 15, 1982 in Johannesburg, of Portuguese descent. He received the international badge in 2011.
Victor Gomez, who refereed the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations final between Algeria and Senegal and the 2022 Nations Cup final between Egypt and Senegal, is one of the best referees in Africa and has a good reputation among his colleagues.
African reports say that Gomez is a businessman, who owns a private plane and is difficult to access.
